My Journey Abroad
Hi, I’m Martha.
More than twenty years ago, I moved abroad as an au pair. Later, I became an international student studying finance and accounting, worked through my studies, built my career and eventually became an accountant in an international company.
Along the way, I also became a mother and experienced the financial decisions that come with building a life across borders.
These experiences shaped Smart Money Diaspora. I became interested in the questions many immigrants face: How do you build stability? How do you support family without losing your own financial future? How do you move from earning an income to building assets? And how do you create something that can benefit the next generation?
